A rugged, rural home site met modern construction, and the result is a gem tucked into East Tennessee. The custom Knox County house features hardwood and tile floors, LED cove lighting in the living room and master bedroom, custom light blue, dark blue and black laminate kitchen cabinets and floor-to ceiling windows and glass walls framed in wood to unite the beauty outdoors with the splendor inside. The home was built to meet Green Building specifications and is extremely energy efficient. The exterior features metal, western red cedar, concrete and steel. Special features include a spacious outside shower and a terrace with open air ceiling surrounded by red cedar. Minimal landscaping was done so the home seems like it was naturally placed in the surrounding environment. This approach took advantage of the rocky terrain and ensured privacy. The house extends in a pier-like configuration that allows framed views of the surrounding area of woods and rock outcroppings in one direction and the Holston River and the mountains in the distance. This home has clean, straight lines with minimal interior trim to complete the contemporary look..
